Admission to Sainik Schools
Class 6 Eligibility
Sainik School Eligibility is different for class 6 and 9 students
- Class 6 students must be between 10 and 12 years old as of March 31, 2025 (born between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2015).
- Open to both boys and girls.
Class 9 Eligibility
- Must be between 13 and 15 years old as of March 31, 2024 (born between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2011).
- Open to both boys and girls (subject to seat availability).
- Must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school.
Admission to Approved New Sainik Schools
Eligibility Requirements (under 40% route)
- Must be between 10 and 12 years old as of March 31, 2025 (born between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2015).
- Open to both boys and girls (check the specific school’s website for seat availability for girls).
Eligibility Requirements (under 60% route)
- Must be between 10 and 12 years old as of March 31, 2025 (born between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2015).
- Open to both boys and girls (check the specific school’s website for seat availability for girls).
- Must be currently studying in the Approved New Sainik School where admission is sought.
- Must have passed or be appearing in Class V as of March 31, 2025.
Passing Marks for Admission
Newly approved and old Sainik Schools
- Must secure at least 25% in each AISSEE 2024 subject and 40% aggregate marks. •
- SC/ST candidates have no minimum marks requirement but must meet other eligibility criteria.
